Recently there has been an interest in reading the bible from cover to cover. This blog will be an attempt to keep us connected during this endeavor.
The long term goal is to read Genesis through Revelation and to encourage one another along the way by sharing what we have gleaned from God's word. The current short term goal is to have Genesis read by this Wednesday, August 20.
Please let me know if you have been able to read this and please begin to update me/us on your thoughts from the reading :)

ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading GN again. God showed Us how gracious He is by giving Noah very explicit instructions to follow in chapter 7. And then in chapter 8 I like how Noah stayed in the ark until God told him it was time to depart. I'm not sure how patient I would have been :) I love the EVERLASTING covenant made by God and displayed for all to see!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you write...I hear you!! Somewhere over the rainbow...can you hear me singing?!!! Haha
DeleteI love how God made the first Covenant with Noah...Our Rainbow:)))
ReplyDeleteJust started Exodus and I have to say that I know I feel God on many levels in my life setting up paths and blocking others so on and so forth but I wish I could have experienced God speaking to me the way he spoke to Moses and many others long ago. Moses, come closer but remove your sandles...you are standing on HOLY GROUND!! WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteI also loved in GN chapter 24 how Eleizer could not stay quiet about God. He did not hold back and shared multiple times what God was doing.
ReplyDeleteIn chapter 26 people were able to clearly see that God was with Isaac. I want that to be true in my life,
In chapter 28 Jacob made a decision the The LORD would be his God. That was interesting to me because of his heritage and because of all that he had all ready experienced.
In chapter 39 is was said that "The Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did" Joseph was very humble.
Yes, Joseph TRUELY touched my heart on how he totally surrenders to God and just simply TRUSTS...even in prison!! I love his forgiving ways too and how he loved his brothers and only wanted them to set their sights on God and repent but never condems them!
ReplyDeleteAlthough The Old Testament is hard for to understand at times I did like reading of Moses and Aaron in Exodus, Numbers and now Leviticus of The Ark of The Covenant! It teaches of Gods nature, promises and purpose! He wants us to obey but not just because we fear but wants us to RESPECT in knowing he is PERFECT so if we follow his ways we will enter that PERFECT PEACE & have Hope for a dwelling place in his Salvation and why he gave us this BIBLE to make our CHOICE!!
